I know this has nothing to do with writing, or editing, blah blah blah, but it's the day before Easter and I must say:
Peeps are the Devil's candy.
Don't believe me?

Jump
After a (long) hiatus from blogging, I’m jumping back into the pool. Hey, the water’s not bad! Wait a minute. Why is it warmer right over here by you?
Never mind.
I intend the primary topic of this blog to be writing, editing, and all types of word-geekery. I’ll aim to stay on task, but I’m sure other stuff will leak in from time to time, because hey! I don’t write in a vacuum. Isn’t that what makes words so delicious? All that messy subtext and meaning oozing in and around and ... oh, watch where you’re stepping! Ew.
So, here’s what I do for a living: I play with words. How much fun is that? I started out as an in-house Web designer and assistant editor for a small environmental firm. I’ve also worked for a magazine publisher and for independent content providers. I hope to pass on some of the things I’ve learned, but I won’t ever name names or tell tales, so don’t ask me.
In 2008, I started a freelance writing and editing company. Much of what I now edit and write is technical—information technology, environmental, whatnot—or business related, but I also work with consumer fiction and nonfiction. I’m in the process of finishing a YA novel, while I scribble down ideas for the next ones on the back of envelopes. I drink a lot of coffee.
I have two lovely and invigorating children. They require so many things, like food, and shelter! So if the posting here gets a bit spotty from time to time, it’s probably because I’m off earning my keep. Complain all you want, I shall ignore it.
So have fun, poke around—I’ll be adding the names of some super-fab folks whose stuff I enjoy reading—and hand me that towel over there, would you? I can’t sit in here all day, my fingers are getting pruney.
Never mind.
